Prototyping Service

At IDeas Design Engineering Consultancy, we offer in-house prototyping and small batch production using our range of advanced 3D printers. This capability allows us to bring concepts to life rapidly, enabling quick iterations, functional testing, and short-run manufacturing. We’ve successfully produced a variety of custom components for clients across multiple industries, including tooling, jigs, fixtures, and precision end-use parts.
Our printers can accommodate builds of up to 450mm x 450mm x 450mm, giving us the flexibility to produce everything from small, intricate designs to larger, more robust components. All of our printers are fully portable, allowing us to print directly on-site should your project require it—ideal for time-sensitive jobs or work within controlled environments.
We print using a wide selection of engineering-grade materials, each chosen to suit specific mechanical, thermal, or aesthetic needs.
Materials We Print With:
PLA (Polylactic Acid)
A biodegradable, easy-to-print material ideal for prototypes, concept models, and low-stress applications.
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)
Strong and impact-resistant, suitable for functional parts that require durability and higher temperature resistance.
Nylon (Polyamide)
Tough, flexible, and wear-resistant—great for mechanical components, gears, and parts under stress.
TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)
A flexible, rubber-like material perfect for impact-absorbing parts, seals, and gaskets.
ASA (Acrylic Styrene Acrylonitrile)
UV and weather-resistant, making it ideal for outdoor applications and components exposed to sunlight.
PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol)
Combines strength and flexibility with good chemical resistance, suitable for both functional and aesthetic parts.
Whether you need a one-off prototype, an on-site printing solution, or a small production run, our 3D printing service delivers precision, speed, and high-quality results tailored to your project.
